Lukas – Art in Flanders

Lukas – Art in Flanders has contributed approximately 4,500 images of works of art from more than 30 important Flemish museums and cultural institutions to the Artstor Digital Library.

The selection contains art ranging from the 8th to the 20th century and includes paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. Featuring dozens of Flemish artists in high resolution images, it provides an essential resource for the study of the art of the southern Netherlands. Iconic names include Hans Memling, Jan Provoost, Hieronymus Bosch, Peter Paul Rubens, Frans Hals, and James Ensor, among many others. The collection also features new photography, including brilliant details, of the Ghent Altarpiece, 1432, by Hubert and Jan van Eyck, as well as many other significant works.
 
Lukas – Art in Flanders, an online image bank, provides an archival repository and digital infrastructure for many Flemish museums and cultural heritage institutions.
