The Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) has contributed approximately 2,800 digital images depicting a wide variety of works of art and architecture, mostly western, to the Artstor Digital Library.

The eclectic selection in Artstor includes the iconic works that feature in many art history curricula alongside examples of graphic design, photography, architecture and decorative arts. The images were selected from the MCAD Visual Resources Collection’s Slide Library with the assistance of Allan Kohl, Visual Resources Librarian. The Slide Library (now decommissioned and replaced by digital resources) was a teaching collection that featured global art, applied design, and American popular culture. It served as the resource for MCAD faculty, which is comprised largely of working artists and designers.

Additional related collections in the Artstor Digital Library include:

Century Magazine Illustrations of the American Civil War (Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Gazette du Bon Ton (Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
Historic American Sheet Music Covers (Minneapolis College of Art and Design)
