Artstor is seeking a Director of Content Strategy. The Director's primary role will be to develop and implement strategies for facilitating the flow of images and data into the Artstor Digital Library and beyond. Through the cultivation of relationships with local and global artists, museums, archives, and foundations, the Director will work to lower the barriers that prevent content from being included in the Artstor Digital Library and other destinations that serve contributing institutions and users.
Artstor (Artstor.org) is a nonprofit organization that makes available a digital library of more than 1.8 million images designed to enhance education and scholarship in the arts, architecture, the humanities, and sciences. The Artstor Digital Library currently serves more than 1,500 educational institutions and museums worldwide. Artstor also makes available Shared Shelf (sharedshelf.org), a Web-based cataloging and image management software service that allows institutions to catalog, edit, store, and share local collections. As part of Artstor's mission of using digital technologies to further education, scholarship, and research worldwide, the organization collaborates with other institutions in the community to offer a number of other free services, including serving as one of the initial hubs supporting the Digital Public Library of America, and providing free images for academic publications.
