Vice President of Library Relations

The Vice President of Library Relations is responsible for leading the sales and marketing strategy for ARTstor products, including ARTstor Digital Library and Shared Self. ARTstor Digital Library (ADL) is a digital image library of more than 1.5 million images used for research and educational purposes at institutions worldwide. Shared Shelf is a cloud-based, enterprise-wide image hosting, cataloging and management software system developed by ARTstor, along with nine non-profit partners, for use by non-profit institutions worldwide.

Partnering with senior staff, the VP of Library Relations will develop and modify product pricing, marketing and sales plans. In leading Shared Shelf and ADL sales efforts, this role will develop and implement sales strategies thus encouraging/generating interest, resulting in increased subscriptions and usage.  As a senior ambassador, the VP of Library Relations will create and maintain strategic partnerships within the academic and art communities.  As a senior ambassador, the VP of Library Relations will create and maintain strategic partnerships within the academic and art communities. This role will also partner with various departments within ARTstor, including Technology and User Services, and will be instrumental in providing strategic leadership to the organization.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Work with senior staff to develop and modify product pricing, marketing and sales plans.
  • Lead Shared Shelf and ADL sales, by developing interest and working with interested institutions to develop that interest into subscriptions.
  • Develop and implement retention strategies.
  • Develop plans for marketing, sales, and integration of Shared Shelf for museums.
  • Partner with implementation and technology teams and prioritize product development and services.
  • Present at conferences, education and cultural institutions, and at other events on ARTstor and its services and products.
  • Work with senior staff to develop strategy and priorities for the organization.
  • Supervise the Library Relations Department, with direct management of the Director and Assistant Director of Library Relations.

Education & Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Library Science, business administration or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing/business development and sales.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Marketing management and strategic planning experience.
  • Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
  • A proven track record in developing and implementing programs for creating awareness and use of online products or services.
  • Entrepreneurial and collegial approach.

This is a senior position within the organization; the Vice President of Library Relations will report to the President and will work in collaboration with a small leadership team.
