Lisa Gavell

Project Lead, Larry Qualls Archive

Lisa is the Project Lead for the Larry Qualls Archive, a unique collection that documents contemporary art exhibitions. She also coordinates the digitization of modern art collections such as the Mark Rothko and Roy Lichtenstein collections. Prior to joining ARTstor, Lisa worked in the Department of Art History and Archaeology's Visual Media Center at Columbia University, where she helped to implement the digitization of the slide collection. She also freelanced as an art history editor and researcher, and interned at Smack Mellon, an art space in Brooklyn. Lisa holds an MA in Art History and American Studies from Columbia and a BA from Simmons College in Art History and Women's Studies.
