Kristine Heid-Santiago is a Metadata Manager for ARTstor. Her primary responsibility is the analysis, editing, and enhancement of contributed data before mapping it to the ARTstor schema. Additionally, Kristine spends time correcting user-reported data errors and clustering multiple images of the same works. She also has a role in building the ARTstor Name Authority (ANA).
Kristine began her career with ARTstor as a Metadata Consultant, after working six years in the stock photography industry as a Keyword Editor. While finishing her graduate thesis, she took a hiatus from ARTstor to complete a collections internship at the George Gustav Heye Center of the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), and a conservation internship in the Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas (AAOA) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MMA). She also worked as a Research Assistant in the Drawings and Prints Department at the MMA before returning to ARTstor.
