Rachel Spiegel
Special Assistant to the Executive Director
Rachel Spiegel works with ARTstor's leadership to identify, research, and pursue funding opportunities intended to augment the support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation; she also lends her writing and editing skills to special projects. Prior to joining ARTstor, Rachel was Director of Development at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York City where she led fundraising efforts for programs in contemporary art, theater, and music designed to promote French-American friendship and diplomacy. Before attending graduate school, she was a Research Manager with the Advisory Board Foundation, a private family foundation in Washington, D.C., where she worked closely with nonprofit executive directors and wrote the monograph, Accountable Good: Program Evaluation in the Nonprofit Sector.
Rachel's background also includes experience in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs, gallery management at London-based Hirschl Contemporary Art, strategy consulting for the Terra Foundation for American Art, and development at The Frick Collection.
Rachel received an MBA from Columbia Business School, an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London with a specialization in eighteenth-century French and British art, and a BA from Amherst College.
