Chief Financial Officer
Joseph Williams is the Chief Financial Officer of ARTstor. He is responsible for the organization's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and long-range planning, and oversees outsourced accounting, reporting, billing, and tax activities.
Prior to joining ARTstor, Mr. Williams was the Chief Financial Officer at several specialized publishers, including The New Press and Leadership Directories, as well as a consultant to several Internet and publishing ventures. In these roles, he worked closely with management teams and boards on business strategy, product planning, sales planning and pricing, cost management, information systems, and organizational structure and championed the expanded use of metrics and profit analysis to support decision-making. Earlier, Mr. Williams was CFO for U.S. Magazine Publishing at Reader's Digest, and he held a series of financial management positions with the newspaper and magazine operations of The New York Times Company, having transitioned from newsroom roles as a Times editor and freelance writer. Mr. Williams has also served as Treasurer and Director of a youth-oriented arts organization and worked with nonprofit photography organizations on marketing and communications.
Mr. Williams received an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Harvard College, and he is a Certified Management Accountant.
