Yao Ceremonial Artifacts (Ohio University)
Overview
Ohio University is collaborating with ARTstor to share approximately 3,700 images of art works and objects created by the Yao people, an ethnic minority from northern Vietnam. The collection includes ceremonial and temple art dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, with examples of hand scrolls, hanging scrolls, masks, head dress-type objects, manuscripts, and textiles. These images will be selected from Ohio University's Yao Ceremonial Artifacts Collection, which is housed in the Frederick and Kazuko Harris Fine Arts Library.
