Artstor is collaborating with the Foundation for Landscape Studies to share approximately 5,000 contemporary photographic images from around the world in the Digital Library. The Foundation for Landscape Studies is a not-for-profit corporation with a mission to foster an active understanding of the importance of place in human life. The collection in Artstor will provide an overview of landscape studies, encompassing all cultural landscapes, including gardens, parks, cities, suburbs, rural areas, and the humanized wilderness. A subset of the images will consist of engravings from rare books dating from the sixteenth through early twentieth century.
