Now available: Yao ceremonial artifacts from Ohio University
Ohio University has shared approximately 2,800 images of art works and objects created by the Yao people, an ethnic minority from northern Vietnam, which are now available in ARTstor. When complete, the collection in ARTstor will include 3,700 images of ceremonial and temple art dating from the 19th and 20th centuries, with examples of hand scrolls, hanging scrolls, masks, head dress-type objects, manuscripts, and textiles. These images have been selected from Ohio University’s North Ethnic Minorities Collection — Viet Nam, which is housed in the Frederick and Kazuko Harris Fine Arts Library.
