Now available: 13,000 images from the Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi of Great Britain
The Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi of Great Britain and the National Monuments Record (NMR), the public archive at English Heritage, have collaborated with ARTstor to distribute 13,000 images of medieval stained glass windows in Great Britain in the Digital Library.
The majority of these digital images have been provided by the National Monuments Record (English Heritage) in Swindon, which houses the CVMA photographic archive of approximately 30,000 images. Approximately 9,600 images were scanned with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Board, and they are being joined by an additional 8,500 images that CVMA (GB) has collected from various sources. ARTstor will be providing support to CVMA (GB) to complete the digitization of a subset of these images. When complete, the Corpus Vitrearum Medii Aevi of Great Britain Collection in ARTstor will present a comprehensive archive documenting all aspects of medieval English stained glass.
